When Chanel and Grace passed their two week quarantine period, we moved them into the same hutch with a secure divider in the middle so they could get used to each other. They growled and rumble strutted along the common wall to determine who was the dominate guinea pig. When this behaviour eventually stopped, we introduced them into the same dwelling with veggies. They now live together and (mostly) get along well!
Since bringing Grace home, we’ve learned a lot about her personality. She loves to read with us (especially Bloomsbury Publishing UK A Guinea Pig Oliver Twist), popcorn around the living room, eat tomato and receive pats.
Our vet, Greencross Vets suggested we quarantine Chanel and Grace in separate rooms for two weeks, in case either were sick. We kept them under close watch to see if either showed signs of illness. Luckily, both are in good health!
After we adopted Grace from RSPCA Sydney Shelter, we took her to our local vet for a check-up. Dr Nick checked her teeth, coat, feet, eyes and weight. She is in terrific health!
Chanel has become much more confident in our home, so we thought it would be a good time to extend the space of her floor time area to our entire living room space. She loved it so much that she popcorned!
