What’s that?

Did you know that guinea pigs secrete a milky liquid from their eyes which lubricates their eyes and helps them groom their faces?

Guinea pigs are prone to suffering from stress.

Signs of stress include refusing to exit of enclosed spaces, sleeping more than usual, appearing constantly nervous or irritabile, not wanting to be handled, poor appetite and excessive hair loss. The best way to prevent stress is to provide a guinea pig with a comfortable enclosure located in a quiet area of the house. Keep larger pets away from the guinea pigs’ enclosure. Supervise children when they handle your guinea pig, and make sure you give the guinea pig adequate time to eat, sleep and relax.
